Leighton Buzzard 2010

April Training Weekend

The first thing to say is, another very good weekend (thanks for arranging everything again Steve). We got an incredible amount done and these weekends are really proving invaluable for both individual and group projects.

Jax has a pelta almost completely made, Elaine has most of a new outfit cut and prepared for finishing; Jeff has his tent essentially ready for use (including being fully painted) and Steve's tent has all the external paint on now and the patterns for the detailing created. One scythian hat was made, another started and a number of persian headresses cut-out... and these are only some of the things we did!

...oh, and Ash never quite got around to that linothorax he was planning!

As with the last two events we once again had an evening feast - which was indeed a feast. I think everyone brought enough to feed everyone and so we were rather overfaced!! Magnificent though. At last the sympotic activities wound down the last soul 'tried' to find his bed in the dark at around 2 am....... waking everyone else in the process and providing that priceless visual moment when the lights were thrown on and- you HAD to be there.

We're definitely looking to be in good shape for the start of the season, with our first event in Bushey Park on May bank holiday weekend. See you there!
