The Hoplite Association will be returning to No Man’s Land Living History Weekend at Bodrhyddan Hall, Dyserth, North Wales, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th April 2027.

No Man’s Land is one of the UK’s major multi-period living history events, bringing together around 900–1,000 re-enactors and historic vehicle owners and covering more than 2,000 years of history, from the ancient world through to the twentieth century.

Throughout the weekend, members of the Hoplite Association will be bringing the world of Ancient Greece to life. Visitors will be able to meet our re-enactors, see reconstructed clothing, armour, weapons and everyday equipment, and learn about the lives of the soldiers and civilians of the Greek world.

We will be happy to talk about everything from hoplite armour and weapons to clothing, warfare, society and daily life, and there will be opportunities to see our equipment up close and discover how the familiar image of the Greek hoplite relates to the surviving archaeological, literary and artistic evidence.

The wider event includes military camps and displays covering many different historical periods, along with arena demonstrations, firing displays, military vehicles, traders, refreshments, live music and the No Man’s Land Tavern. Saturday’s arena programme is expected to focus particularly on the period from the Ancient World through to the Napoleonic Wars, making it an especially good day to see the earlier historical displays.

The event is designed for the whole family, and under-16s receive free admission.
